2011.09.17 - L'Arc~en~ciel 20th L'Anniversary Tour : Fukuoka

After a three year hiatus, my favourite Japanese band L'Arc~en~ciel has gotten back together again for their 20th Anniversary tour. Luckly my ticket was really really close to one side of the stage, my god I could see their faces clearly. The last concert I went to was in 2008 for their L'7 tour and Theatre of Kiss Tour. So seeing them again after so long is very nostalgic. Lead singer Hyde looked the same as always..that boy seriously has not aged, I would like to know what he does!

As usual I bought heaps of stuff...

5.05pm and the lights turn off, scream starts and the whole stadium is filled with a sea of rainbow lights. On the stage behind the band they had an orchestra in a huge cage. They start 0ff with Niji, Seventh Heaven and Goodluck my Way and 4th Avenue Cafe. After Hyde talks to the crowd and tells us how they are now 20years old, and that they are so old. He then says the venue Marine Messe Fukuoka is way too long to say, so he gives the venue/us a nickname "Mari-Chan"♥

Of course they sang Revelation with fires coming out of the stage! Awesome stuff. Also they sang my favourite tunes which includes Honey, Drink it down, My hearts draws a dream. After Hyde would scream "Mari-Chan are you Fucking Ready?!" and Ready Steady Go starts us going crazy. After that drummer, Yuki goes on a crazy solo, he put all his energy in it but in the end he stops and falls backwards. I thought it was hilarious but after that the crowded got worried and our intermission was longer than usual.

After the intermission there was a slide show from Laruku's early days up to now. Which was really nice to see :) They introduced the song XXX with the video clip playing at the back, Hyde saying it was a song for adults :P Link was also sang! Which god I love that song and they ended the concert with Anata, with pretty white petals falling from the sky.

Overall it was a great concert!! it was great seeing them again!! I am very satisfied :)

2011.08.21 - カルテット!

Today I saw a カルテット!which literally means Quartet concert. But what was different about this concert was that it had a story and all the musicians were also the actors. Kinda like a musical but instead of singing it was quartet, solo or duo. Really interesting. The story is about a family of four, the dad played the piano, mum the cello, son the violin and the flute was played by the daughter. Overall the story was about a family who didn't get along especially with their rebellious daughter how they forgave each other. Quite interesting, never seen anthing like it but thoroughly enjoyable.

The stage...someone's head is in the way lol

2011.07.13 - Wicked

After years of anticipation, today one of my dreams finally came true as I went and saw the broadway musical 'Wicked'. It really did live up to my expectations and beyond, the set and costume were beautiful and I simply loved the parallels between the musical and the 1939 movie! It is a must see musical and If I could I would watch it over and over again!!!

Wicked Martini- an alcoholic slushi served at the theater! Delicious melon flavour that light up. Hillarious how everyone was drinking it, felt like I was a Hogwarts learning magic :P :P

The beautiful and colourful set.

Wicked: The Grimmerie- a behind the scenes book. Loved the vintage look, reminds me of an old spell book.

2011.04.15 - Good Charlotte Cardiology Tour

Friday my sisters and I went to see Good Charlotte and O.M.G it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to (The best for me was L'Arc~en~ciel's 2007-2008 concert :)). We got there around 7.30pm and guest band 'New Empire' were already playing, decided to get our merchandise before they ran out. Got myself their tour shirt and a cute bag.

When we got to our seats the next guest band 'Short Stack' started, they were getting the crowd hyped for GC and it was working. Our seat was on the stand, right in the middle facing directly opposite the stage. Close enough to see them but not enough to see their faces without our binoculars :)

9.33pm finally the lights went out and the screaming started! They came out singing 'The Anthem'. Most songs they sang were their older ones but all are favourites! The guys also are good at getting the audience hyped! The whole concert we jumped up and down, screaming, singing along(cough* shouting along :P), so much fun. The only negative side to the concert is that in Australia the audience isn't as fun and crazy like the ones in Japan. My sisters and I, a lady next to us and a few girls down below were the only ones standing and enjoying ourselves. Everyone just sat there, err why are they here if not to enjoy themself?! weird but we had a good time and that's all that counts. Next time they come we are going to Mosh!

My Sunlit blossoms Golden Earrings from Ruche.

Warning: Do not wear these earring to concerts mine fell off after the third song and lost the back part :(Benji singing his solo.
